School Meals

At Riverside School we provide a healthy hot lunch cooked on site by our catering team. The menus are on a three week rolling basis as below.

If your child prefers to bring a packed lunch please ensure no nuts or nut products are included as we have pupils with nut allergies. We encourage healthy eating and therefore ask that sweets and fizzy drinks are not included in packed lunches.

Dinner Money

Meals cost £2.80 for Primary and £3.40 for Seniors (Yr7 onwards), payable on a Monday, weekly in advance.

We are in the process of becoming a cashless school and payments can be made via our online payment platform, Arbor, using a debit or credit card. Free School Meals

Pupils in Reception, Year1 and Year2 are entitled to a Universal Infant Free School Meal.

In September 2026 the Government announced a significant expansion to the Free School Meal (FSM) eligibility, whereby all children in households receiving Universal Credit are entitled to a free school meal.
The two categories of benefits based FSM are:

-Targeted FSM - continues to be based on the existing criteria for pupils in households in receipt of Universal Credit with total income less than £7,400.
-Expanded FSM - for pupils who do not qualify for targeted FSM, but who are in households receiving Universal Credit with income above £7,400

Eligibility for those pupils in receipt of FSM will be checked on an annual basis.
